Sertab Erener is a popular Turkish singer who came to worldwide prominence when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with the song “Everyway That I Can”. Prior to that competition Erener was well-known for many years in Turkey, releasing her first album Sakin Ol in 1992.

Portrait of Dr. Gachet is a late 19th century masterpiece by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh and one of the most valuable paintings ever. Van Gogh actually painted two versions of this portrait—the painting above, currently held by the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, and an earlier version in different colours and with different features, including buttons on Dr. Gachet’s jacket.

White Camel at Wadi Rum, Jordan

Although the scan is not as clear as it could be, I still love this photo. The white of the inquisitive young camel contrasts beautifully with the red sand, brown rock cliffs and bluish sky. Other camels loiter in the background. The white camel’s two front legs are tethered by rope. This tether still allows the camel to walk but restricts its movement so it doesn’t far away from the owner or the other camels.
